Is there a free web hosting out there That I can just upload my site to?
Its going to be temporairy. I have a small web designing business and I am looking design a site for my business to attract customers. I am just going to put my basic information and my contact. I don't care if its a weird web address because I am just going to link to it. I am using dreamweaver to create this site. So I something I can just upload it via FTP. Is it possible?

- Try http://www.110mb.com - not sure if they support FTP but there is absolutely no ads. And it's free! I'd strongly recommend paid hosting and your very own domain name so you can create a proper site for your business. There is nothing worse than a web-designer who doesn't have a nice site. You think people will be "attracted"? Try eBay too - biggest marketplace in the world and great starting point when it comes to building yourself a reputation. Get a small portfolio together and then you can venture into a stand-alone operation via having your own dedicated website and using SEO and Adwords to promote your site. All the best mate.

- Hey Trevor, Everything free on the internet has a catch...be careful. Some free hosting can erase your site at the drop of a hat, and without your permission. If you decide to try paid hosting, I included my recommendation below. Choose a webhost that is good for the environment! Go green with your webhosting! http://www.getagreenwebhost.com
- for free hosting, u could try http://kohost.0lx.net offers free hosting where you can upload your web pages, host your own blogs, discussion forums, shopping carts, etc.. everything is free, including a free sub-domain name. :) check it out!
- Trevor, as a web developer, you're suppose to know better. Free hosting is bad news. I own a web hosting company - here's a quick article I wrote on free web hosting: http://eventurebiz.com/blog/8-drawbacks-to-free-web-hosting/ Realize that a weird web address is only one small part of the drawbacks. Hosting isn't that expensive - so don't short change yourself. Here are other considerations you need to think about right now: - great, you get a lot of links. Then one day you decide to upgrade to your own domain; guess what? Now all those links that are pointing to your free site are lost. You just wasted a year of your time as far as SEO goes. - Everyone who's bookmarked your site will lose touch with you. Again, as the owner of a hosting company, just say no to free. Good luck, John ceo and founder of eVentureBiz - http://www.eventurebiz.com
- Just remember, you get what you pay for. If it is free it will probably be bombarded with ads or selling your info. If you dont mind having prominent ads display on your site then free is the way to go.
