Will a hosting company put a server that i provide online?
I already have a webserver...i just need a dedicated connection for it. Do you think a web host would house my server and provide a dedicated connection to it?

- No, they won't do that. If they host they use their equipment. If you already have the webserver just get the line its always better to host yourself anyway.
- Depends. I used to work for an ISP / web hosting company and we had a couple of clients that had dedicated servers in our server rack...but I don't know how much they paid us. It was probably alot cause the guy was running adult porn sites. See if you can get a smaller local web hosting company in your area let you host with your own server. They might require certain security procedures so you don't hose their network but they'll be more likely to let you host your server in their rack than a larger company.
- Yes they will, I have done it several times. You'll obviously need to pay for shipping, and a fee for connection, and a premium to have it there. But they WILL do it. My needs were pretty specific. I owned BulkMailHosting, one of the top ten Spamming services in the world (Briefly). Our servers were constantly getting shut down, and then FedEx'd around the globe. I was also delevoping software that required multiple servers running sensitive software that my company created, so security was key. For that I hooked into a big pipe in Texas. I built the servers myself as they needed a complex RAID configuration and a LOT of memory and CPU power. At the end of the day, it will be cheaper to use one of their servers, but you can get anything you want if you are willing to pay for it.
- Hello, Yes you can. You may search for "Colocation services" Good luck!
