- angelfire. what is your small biz? do you have a biz plan? do not continue till u have one or you will be spinning your wheels. and fewer than 5% of all web sites that do not have brick and mortor bases make any profit!!!
- If you're using Dreamweaver I take it you plan on designing your own site. Any hosting company will have FTP access and they should say so on their listed plans. If you are serious about your business (i.e. have a viable business plan) then I suggest getting a professional to do your site, unless you're a graphic designer/developer by trade. For a simple site you can get a freelancer to develop it for you at a very low cost. I can hook you up with the designer who does all my client websites for my company - probably about $250 if it's a brochure-type site. Just email me if you're interested, otherwise I suggest rentacoder.com or guru.com
- Don't . . . let me repeat, don't even try to use free web hosting to start and run your business. I can't stress this enough. Here's a blog article I wrote about it. Make sure you're informed before you do this: http://eventurebiz.com/blog/8-drawbacks-to-free-web-hosting/ I do own a web hosting and development company. My blog is about growing and thinking as an entrepreneur. Take a look around, see what we do. Small business owners are who we cater to. However, even if you don't host with us, just do yourself a favor and don't go the free route to make money. Hosting is not that expensive. - I would not choose free web hosts as they are not reliable and once I used free host, but all my data lost and they didn't have back up and I had to do all over again, very frustrating. If you look for web hosting, don’t rush into it. Read reviews about web hosting and decide properly before going ahead with web hosting. I personally will recommend you a web hosting which many people find it very reliable. It is hostmonster. Before deciding to sign up hostmonster, read the reviews and stats about hostmonster at the following website. http://www.hostmonsterreview.co.uk
- If you are serious about websites either for personal or your business, don't go to free web hosting as they are usually not reliable and you may end up losing all your hard work. Free web hosts usually put advertisements on your websites and it could be annoying. If you like to create websites (usually you will end up more than 1 website, I got more than 100 websites in about 6 months' time), go for multiple web hosting services where you could host all your websites in one account. I would like to suggest following webhosting which I use, they are excellent. Hostmonster http://www.hostmonster.com/track/ryukenden/ They offer hosting of "unlimited domains" and you will get massive webspace of 1500000 MB (1500 GB ). They only charge $5.95/month and they offer "a free Domain Name" and installing service called "Fantastico". By using Fantastico, you could create own forum, photo gallery, shopping cart (e-commerce),your own auction site and your own blogs within few seconds. They also offer "Free Website Builder" as well. Visit the site to check details. Hostmonster http://www.hostmonster.com/track/ryukenden/
